A complete 2D puzzle-adventure game about torches that alter the world's collision data around them.
GOAL
To fully explore this unique puzzle mechanic
TORCHES
Outside the radius of a torch, normal collision applies. However, inside it, color determines the solidity of objects (you can walk from black to black, but not white to black)
Many variants of torch exist such as ones powered by electricity, ones that toggle other torches, or ones that affect a single line of tiles in a given direction
Each torch is introduced in its own area and the finale brings them all together to create some truly mind-bending puzzles
LEVEL DESIGN
Areas in Blhite consist of a series of interconnected rooms
The first considerations when making a new area is the unique torch variant that it will be built around and the aesthetic it will have
Then the individual puzzle rooms are created and playtested
Finally, the entire area is tested and re-balanced to ensure the game remains challenging but not frustrating
